Pres. Weah nominates Madam Davidetta Browne-Lansanah as Nat’l Elections Commission Chairman

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has nominated Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah as Chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC). 

Prior to her nomination, Mrs. Lansanah was nominated, confirmed and commissioned as co-chairman of the Electoral Body. 

She has been acting NEC Chair following the disqualification of Cllr. Ndubusi Nwabudike by the Liberian Senate. 

According to an Executive Mansion release issued Monday, June 15, 2020, the NEC Chairman-designate will replace Cllr. Jerome Korkoryah whose tenure expired in March of this year.

Meanwhile, President Weah has nominated Cllr. Teplah Reeves as Co-chairman of NEC. 

Cllr. Reeves is to replace Mrs. Davidetta Browne Lansanah as NEC Co-chair. The nominations are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate where applicable.
