IMF gives $50 million USD to Liberia under its Rapid Credit Facility

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has given Fifty-million United States Dollars to the Liberian Government under its Rapid Credit Facility.

According to a release issued over the weekend from the Ministry of Information, the money will help Liberia address the emergency financing needs generated by COVID-19 outbreak in the Country.

The release also said the money will address the significant risks caused by the coronavirus pandemic to Liberia’s population and reform path.

The IMF’s Executives also praised the Liberian Government for significant effort made in strengthening public financial management, under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) arrangement.

Meanwhile, the Government has lauded the IMF and other international partners for the massive support to the Country in the wake of COVID-19.
