Finance Ministry to disburse 700 thousand USD to Nat’l Elections Commission

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Finance Ministry has disclosed the disbursement of seven-hundred-thousand United States Dollars to the National Elections Commission soon.

The money will go towards the preparation of the holding of the Mid-Term Senatorial Elections.

Finance Minister Samuel Tweah said:” A total of two-million United States Dollars will be released to the Electoral Body by June 30 this year.”

Minister Tweah told Senators Monday, May 25, 2020, that Government attaches seriousness to the process, allotting about eight-million United States Dollars in the budget for the National Elections Commission (NEC).

He said a huge chunk of that sum will be given NEC for the holding of the elections this year.

The Finance Minister said:” Government will do all within its powers to ensure that the election is held to avoid Constitutional crisis.”
