MOA to Allow Farmers Access to Their Farms Beyond 3pm Curfew

Monrovia, Liberia – The Agriculture Ministry says it has finalized consultations with relevant authorities to grant local farmers authorization to move freely to and from their farms after 3pm daily.

Agriculture Minister, Jeanine Cooper, said local farmers will be given access passes to transport their produce across the country under the State of Emergency.

Minister Cooper said the access passes to local farmers are vital because food security is also serious for the country after the Coronavirus.

It followed the launch of Transport Permit for local farmers by the Agriculture Ministry Friday.

In a related development, the National Coordinator of Covid–19 Response, Mary Broh, said there is a need for local farmers to continue producing food in the country to promote food adequacy post Covid-19.

Madam Broh is at the same time urging farmers to adhere to the health protocols in the fight against the Coronavirus in the country.
