Muslim, Christian Clerics Intensified Coronavirus Awareness

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Several Muslim and Christian clerics in Paynesville have intensified Coronavirus awareness through the distribution of hand washing buckets and disinfectants.

The religious leaders are under the banner, Foundation for Islamic Integration and Development Agency (FIIDA).

The Senior Volunteer of the group, Sheik Musa Nyei, told ELBC Monday, March 30, 2020 that the coronavirus awareness is being carried out in Montserrado and Margibi Counties.

Imam Nyei said more than forty young people from the two religious groups have been recruited to serve as volunteers for the awareness program.

As part of the campaign, the groups are also explaining Government’s sanctioned health protocols and the rationale behind the closure of mosques and churches to community members.
