Pres. Weah issues Executive Order 98, suspending all tariffs on rice

MONROVIA, LIBERIA (Mansion Press Release)-President George Weah has with immediate effect issued Executive Order 98, suspending all tariffs on rice.

An Executive Mansion release issued Wednesday, February 5, 2020, said the decision is a show of Government’s commitment to reduce the prices of essential goods on the local market.

The release said President Weah believes that Executive Order 98 is also intended to achieve the desired objectives of easing economic burdens on citizens and residents.

The Liberian Leader said that an assessment and evaluation was conducted to understand the causes responsible for the increase in the prices of basic commodities on the Liberian Market.
