Third World’s Largest Dreding, Marine Company to Begin Deepening Freeport of Monrovia Wednesday

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The dredging of the Freeport of Monrovia is expected to commence on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.

Bigger vessels have been finding it difficult to dock at the Freeport of Monrovia over the years due to lack of capacity to accommodate them.

Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Smith Toby, made the disclosure Tuesday during the Executive Mansion regular Press briefing.

Mr. Toby said upon the completion of the dredging project,  bigger vessels will now begin to dock successfully at the Freeport of Monrovia.

He said a team of dredgers have already completed their assessment and feasibility study to commence the project.

According to him, President Weah was concerned about the dredging of the Port when he attended the turning over of the five fire trucks at the Freeport of Monrovia.
