House of Rep. summons Commerce Minister, others

MONROVIA, LIBERIA (Wholquoi Yeahgar Reports)-The Ministers of Commerce and the Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) are expected to appear before the House of Representatives on Thursday, January 30, 2020.

The decision was reached based on a communication from River Gee County District One Representative Alex Poure.

Representative Poure wants them answer questions regarding the the shortage of petroleum products on the market.

According to him, the reported shortage of gasoline on the Liberian Market has caused a serious increase in transportation fares across the Country.

The House of Representatives has also cited health officials to state what measures have been taken to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus.

Plenary’s decision was in line with communication from Montserrado County District Sixteen Representative Dixon Seboe.

Representative Dixon is worried about the virus outbreak in China and said statistics being presented to the amount of cases discovered and the corresponding deaths are alarming.

He said:” It is important to know how the virus is described and the manner in which it is spread or contacted.”
