Uphold the peace and stability of Liberia-Pres. Julius Maada Bio

PAYNESVILLE CITY, MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maado Bio is urging Liberians to uphold the peace and stability of Liberia.

President Bio said:” Liberians must not allow themselves to be used by anyone to disturb the peace of the Country.”

The Sierra Leonean President was speaking Wednesday, December 11, 2019 when he served as Keynote Speaker at the 100th Graduation Ceremony of the University of Liberia.

President Bio also challenged graduates of the University to always be positive in the development of the Country by using their various expertise properly to make the Country better.

He said:” It is incumbent upon all citizens to collectively support the Liberian Government and other partners to lift the Country out of poverty.”

Meanwhile, the graduates have been urged to translate their skills into jobs.
President George Weah said:” The current job market cannot absorb the overwhelming number of graduates, but use your expertise to bridge the unemployment gap in the Liberian society.”

President Weah paid tribute to the UL Administration for preparing competent individuals to contribute to the growth and development of the Country and the global community.
The Liberian Leader also paid special tribute to his Sierra Leonean counterpart President Julius Maado Bio for his innovative speech as keynote speaker of the Centennial Commencement Convocation of the UL.

Making remarks during the UL Graduation exercise at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville outside Monrovia, President Weah also praised parents of graduates for their financial, material and moral support to their children.

At the same time the valedictorian of the Undergraduate classes of the Centennial Commencement Convocation of the UL is calling on the Liberian Government to continue its support to the UL.

Solomon Malie, a Geography Major with the highest Grade Point Aggregate of Summa –Cum laude, wants Government continue in the path of modernizing the UL.

He named the Digital Registration System, the pending construction of a printing press and the tuition-free policy as unique for the State-run Institution.

Mr. Malie the admonished his fellow graduates to be more determined for the achievement of quality education.

He said:” Though there were challenges in leaving the walls of the UL, we made it through determination and hard work.”
