Senate passes bill for oil palm processing facility

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Liberian Senate has passed a bill seeking to build an oil palm processing facility in Liberia. Following the passage, the bill was sent to the House of Representatives for concurrence.

The oil palm processing facility when established will be constructed by the GOLDEN SIFICA and is expected to create job opportunities for Liberians.

The facility is expected to provide public health facilities, training and empowerment in the project area and increase revenue generation for government. The development followed a report from the Senate Committee on Concession and Investment submitted to the plenary Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

The agreement signed between the Liberian Government and GOLDENSIFICA was submitted recently by president George Weah, for enactment.
