Liberian Army Disrobes Two Personnel for Allegedly Manhandling Lady

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) has publicly disrobed two of its personnel allegedly seen in a viral video manhandling a lady.

The two former soldiers, Sergeant Robert Menyongar and Abu Sheriff, were handcuffed and turned over to authorities for criminal investigation on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in Monrovia.

Speaking to reporters at the Barclay Training Center (BTC) Military Barracks in Monrovia, the AFL Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Davidson Forleh, described the men as “bad apples” within the Armed Forces, and ordered the immediate removal of their families from the military barracks.

Maj. Gen. Forleh further described the alleged act by the former soldiers as totally against established norms in the military.

The AFL Chief of Staff also reaffirmed the Armed Forces of Liberia’s commitment to ensuring its officers do not violate the rights of any citizen.
