MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Jallah, says construction of one hundred schools under the EXCEL Project is expected to begin in 2027.

Minister Jallah made the disclosure when she appeared before the House of Representatives of the 55th National Legislature to answer questions on education reforms and investments.

She said,” The Ministry is working with the World Bank to finalize the construction strategy, and school locations will be selected based on educational needs and population growth”.

The Minister also emphasized that registration in public schools is free from Kindergarten through Grade Six.

She warned that Parent Teachers Association (PTA) fees and other authorized assessments must not be used to deny children access to the classroom.

Meanwhile, Minister Jallah has briefed lawmakers on school grants, school monitoring, education data, quality assurance, and accountability.
