MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Deputy Minister for Planning, Research and Development, Thomas Momo Parker, is calling for the effective use of education data to improve policymaking and learning outcomes across the country.
Parker, who has served as Liberia’s GPE KIX Africa 19 Hub Focus Point since 2024, made the call at the ongoing KIX Africa 19 Hub Focus Points meeting in Nairobi, Kenya.
In his remarks, Parker conveyed greetings from Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, the Government, and the people of Liberia, while expressing appreciation to the Global Partnership for Education, the KIX initiative, and the Government and people of Kenya for hosting the meeting.
He said, “Liberia’s participation in KIX has created opportunities for knowledge sharing, peer learning, and improved education planning”.
Parker noted that the initiative continues to support efforts to strengthen Liberia’s Education Management Information System, improve education data management, and promote evidence-based decision-making.
He emphasized that education data must be used to guide policy decisions, allocate resources, monitor progress, and improve learning outcomes for children and young people.
The Ministry of Education also thanked the Global Partnership for Education, the International Development Research Centre, KIX Africa 19 Hub, UNESCO’s International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa, UNICEF, the African Union, and other partners for their continued support.
