MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), Amos Tweh, has challenged Liberian students to use education, discipline, and intellectual excellence to contribute to national development.

The message was delivered on his behalf by the Deputy Managing Director for Administration at LPRC, Jacob Smith, at the Official Draw and Dinner Night of the 2026 LINSU National Quizzing County Meet in Monrovia.

Director Smith described the minds of young people as valuable assets that must be developed through education and strengthened by discipline and good character.

He urged students representing Liberia’s fifteen counties to see themselves as assets to their families, communities, counties, and the nation, stressing that education must ultimately serve others.

The LPRC Deputy Managing Director also encouraged students to defeat ignorance through learning, critical thinking, and research, while embracing competition with humility, discipline, and respect for others.

Meanwhile, the LPRC has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education and youth empowerment through practical learning opportunities and partnerships with educational institutions.

The company said” Investing in the education and development of young people is critical to Liberia’s future”.

The company disclosed that it welcomed twenty-eight university interns from across Liberia in June 2026, allowing them to gain professional experience and connect classroom learning with workplace realities.

Director Smith said LPRC has also hosted engineering students from Stella Maris Polytechnic University and other institutions for educational visits, exposing them to practical experiences and professional opportunities.

He said LPRC will continue, within its mandate and available resources, to support young Liberians through internship programs, educational visits, and partnerships that prepare productive professionals, responsible citizens, and future leaders.
