MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai is expected to lead Liberia’s delegation to the 81st United Nations General Assembly this month.
A release from Liberia’s Permanent Mission to the UN says the Country is seeking to advance its interests on sustainable development, peace, climate change, and global health.
The statement added that the country’s priorities will focus on youth empowerment, women’s leadership, climate change, peace and security, and natural resource management.
The UN General Assembly opens Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in New York, under the theme, “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All.”
Liberia is also expected to host three major side events on youth and security, women’s role in peace and security, and the connection between conflict and natural resources.
