MOROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has signed a sixty million U.S Dollar coffee investment agreement with a multinational Agri-food Company known as JR farms Group.
According to a release, the agreement is to expand production, strengthen farmers’ livelihoods and open new market opportunities in seven of Liberia’s fifteen counties.
The Ministry said:” The benefiting counties will receive improved coffee Seedlings, nurseries, training opportunities, processing support and stronger market linkages”.
Meanwhile, Deputy Agricultural Minister for Planning and Development, David Akoi, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring Liberia’s coffee sector and creating greater economic opportunities.
