Liberia Anti-Trafficking, Scam Victim Support Initiative Raises Alarm…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victim Support Initiative, Zokerseh Saye, is raising the alarm over the growing number of Liberians being targeted by human traffickers through fraudulent opportunities.

Saye says young Liberians are increasingly being targeted through fake job offers, scholarships, travel opportunities and sports-related opportunities, with some victims becoming stranded in countries across Africa and Asia.

He named Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Cambodia, The Gambia, Ghana and Guinea, among countries where Liberians have reportedly become stranded as a result of trafficking and scam-related activities.

According to him, his organization has recorded more than 52 Liberian victims currently stranded in Nigeria and other areas.

Saye is, therefore, calling on the Liberian Government to urgently intervene to facilitate the safe return of the stranded citizens.
