Gov’t of Liberia Begins Resettlement Action Plans along Tappita-Zwedru Road Corridor

GRAND GEDEH COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Public Works, has begun implementing Resettlement Action Plans to compensate property owners affected by road projects along the Tappita-Zwedru and related southeastern corridors.

The first phase of the exercise covers Tappita and the outskirts of Toe City, where affected property owners are being identified for compensation.

According to our correspondent, the second phase will cover the road corridor from Toe City to Zwedru.

The Public Works Ministry has given affected property owners one month to relocate after receiving their compensation.

Our correspondent said pavements are being made based on the size of the affected properties.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries have welcomed the exercise and thanked the government for the compensation.
