MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) has officially launched an enhanced Collateral Registry System to strengthen secured lending and responsible borrowing, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.
According to the CBL, the initiative is expected to unlock access to capital, expand economic opportunities, and strengthen the foundations for inclusive economic growth in Liberia.
CBL Executive Governor Henry Saamoi said:” The launch represents a major milestone in efforts to modernize Liberia’s financial sector and promote private-sector development”.
Governor Saamoi said the enhanced Collateral Registry System is a significant step in Liberia’s journey toward building a modern, inclusive, and resilient financial system that supports investment, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.
Speaking at the launch on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Congo Town, Governor Saamoi added that the platform will strengthen the foundations of secure lending, while expanding economic opportunities for Liberian businesses and entrepreneurs.
