MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Liberia has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
WAEC Liberia Head Dale Gbotoe said: 55,887 candidates sat the examination, with 33,741 candidates meeting the new requirement for graduation”.
He explained that candidates must now pass at least five subjects, including English and Mathematics, to qualify for graduation.
WAEC also identified the top three performers, with the highest-performing student being a female candidate from Fifth Foundation School in Monrovia, followed by a female student from Don Bosco Technical High School and a male student from Cotton Tree Campus School in Bong County.
Gbotoe apologized to students, parents, schools and other stakeholders for the delay, saying the results were released six days after the initially announced August 14 date.
