MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Intellectual Property Office, LIPO, in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO, has concluded a month-long Business and Intellectual Property Management Clinic.
Under the GROW-2 Project, 39 businesses and cooperatives secured intellectual property protection targeting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises across four counties.
The initiative reached 142 entrepreneurs in Lofa, Bong, Nimba and Margibi Counties, providing practical training in intellectual property identification and protection, branding and business management among others.
LIPO’s Deputy Director General for Industrial Property, Jamus Bannah, said the move marks an important step in moving Liberian businesses beyond production and informal trading toward formalization.
She added that the initiative is in support of the Government’s ARREST Agenda, highlighting Economic Transformation and emphasizing the development of a robust national intellectual property ecosystem.
