MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah says Liberia’s standardized school record-keeping system must translate reliable data into better planning, accountability, and learning.
Speaking at a five-day work session in Margibi County, Dr. Jallah said every principal should know their school through credible records.
She said the standardized booklet, developed with principals and technical teams, covers school profiles, student and teacher records, and attendance.
Minister Jallah also urged county teams to use evidence from annual school census fact sheets when preparing operational plans that reflect local realities.
She said:” The Ministry will follow implementation at school level while pursuing digital tools that could eventually provide real-time education data nationwide”.
Minister Jallah then challenged principals to apply the same seriousness used during the workshop, saying consistent records must ultimately improve classroom quality nationwide.
In Remarks, UNICEF Education Specialist, Boroka Zita Godley, says strengthening school-level record-keeping is critical to building a more reliable education system and improving decisions affecting children across Liberia.
