MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Education has selected 38 rural teachers from Liberia’s sixteen Education Counties to participate in a three-week cultural exchange program in China.
According to a press release, the initiative forms part of the Ministry’s Teacher and Administrator Holistic Upgrading priority, aimed at strengthening educators’ knowledge, professional capacity, motivation, and development.
Through the exchange, participating teachers will gain exposure to China’s education system, teaching approaches, mentorship practices, and cultural experiences.
The program also provides teachers outside Monrovia opportunities for international professional development while encouraging them to transfer relevant knowledge to schools and communities.
During a pre-departure engagement, Education Minister, Dr. Jarso Jallah, urged participants to remain focused, purposeful, and committed throughout their three-week international learning experience.
Representing the delegation, Madam Christina Nyanfore thanked the Ministry for the opportunity and pledged that participants would apply their experiences to strengthen teaching and learning.
