MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Richard Koon, has called for increased parliamentary exchanges and cooperation with his Ivoirian counterparts on issues of mutual interest.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the new President of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Assembly, Patrick Achi, recently, Speaker Koon described Achi’s election as an important step for Ivoirian parliamentary democracy.

According to a release, the Liberian Speaker also expressed hope for stronger cooperation between the two legislatures.

For his part, Patrick Achi reaffirmed the importance of continued engagement between the two countries.

The visit, the release said, is part of efforts to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and regional cooperation.
