MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Governments of Liberia and the Netherlands have agreed to strengthen bilateral security ties between both Countries.
The commitment was made on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, during a meeting between Liberia’s Attorney General, Cllr. Oswald Tweh and Netherlands Police Liaison Officer for West Africa, Arjan Verhagen, in Monrovia.
The engagement centered on enhancing law enforcement collaboration, advancing professional capacity building, improving intelligence and information sharing, and reinforcing support for the rule of law.
Both Minister Tweh and Verhagen reiterated their mutual commitment to sustain dialogue and joint action, pledging to enhance security relations between the two nations.
A Justice Ministry statement says the meeting marks another step forward in the ongoing partnership between Liberia and the Netherlands, reflecting a shared vision for greater regional stability and institutional strengthening within Liberia’s justice and security sectors.
