Commerce Ministry Launches Digitize, Decentralize Business Registry Project

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has launched a project to digitize and decentralize the Liberia Business Registry, making business registration services more accessible nationwide.

‎‎The project was launched on Tuesday, August 12, 2026, in Kakata, Margibi County, with the move expected to reduce the need for entrepreneurs to travel to Monrovia to register their businesses.

‎‎According to our Correspondent, the initiative will establish service centers in several counties to bring registration services closer to business owners.

‎‎The project is also expected to simplify business formalization and address challenges entrepreneurs face when accessing registry services.

‎‎Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce says the initiative is part of the Government of Liberia’s efforts to improve services for entrepreneurs and support a more accessible business environment.
