Edu. Minister Jallah Reaffirms Warning against Private Schools Operating without Permits

MONROVIA, LIBERIA- Education Minister, Dr. Jarso Jallah, has reiterated her warning to private schools operating without valid permits to comply with Ministry regulations or face immediate closure.

The Minister delivered the stern warning Tuesday during the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing.

Dr. Jallah disclosed that the Ministry’s ongoing geo-mapping exercise has already identified non-compliant schools operating illegally across Montserrado, Rivercess, Sinoe, Bopolu, and Bomi.

She revealed that the number of permitted schools has dramatically increased from about eight hundred when the current administration took office to over two thousand schools currently holding valid permits.

Dr. Jallah said: “The Ministry has deployed one hundred fifty monitoring and evaluation interns to support District Education Officers in ensuring schools comply with established standards and regulations”.
