MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, Jeremiah Koung, says deliberate investment in Liberia’s Tourism Sector is one of the surest pathways to unlocking the country’s economic potential.
According to the Vice President, Liberia possesses enormous tourism assets that, if properly developed and promoted, could significantly contribute to economic growth and job creation.
Speaking on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Paynesville, VP Koung challenged the Liberia Tourism Authority to intensify efforts to showcase the country’s rich history, cultural heritage, and natural attractions to both domestic and international visitors.
He also urged the Tourism Authority to collaborate with the families of former Liberian presidents to preserve historical records and transform significant presidential sites into tourism destinations.
The Vice President stressed that the time has come for Liberians to fully harness their rich heritage and position themselves as a competitive tourism destination in the region.
