Nat’l Food Assistance Agency Highlights Important Progress…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Director General of the National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA), Borkai Sirleaf, has highlighted significant progress made by the Agency since its legalization by the National Legislature.

Director General Sirleaf named the launch of the Agency’s five-year strategic plan and provision of food to vulnerable groups across eight counties as some key achievements of the entity.

He said” With support from the African Union, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Agency embarked on the food distribution drive to eight of Liberia’s fifteen counties with both home-grown and imported food items supporting local farmers”.

Sirleaf disclosed that the entity has two proposed projects: the Agri Bridge and Feed for Farm, and appealed for support for these projects, which will ensure a steady supply of food for vulnerable populations.

The NFAA boss has, however, lauded the efforts of TopNK Medical Incorporated, owned by a Liberian in the United States, for her continuous support, and called for more diaspora support to enable the entity to reach vast numbers of the vulnerable population with food assistance.
