MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Criminal Court “C” has granted the Government of Liberia’s pretrial application to destroy seized drugs in the country.
Presiding Judge Ousman Feika approved the government’s application after considering several facts presented by the Republic of Liberia through the Justice Ministry.
This then clears the way for the burning of the 19.2 million drugs seized at the Roberts International Airport, alongside the 317-million drugs seized recently in the VOA Community, along the RIA Highway.
According to our sources, the destruction is expected to take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
The move aims to eliminate dangerous substances from circulation and deliver a message to transitional criminal networks that Liberia is a no-go zone for drugs.
Meanwhile, the Court has ordered that within 72-hours of the destruction, the Justice Ministry will file a sworn certificate of destruction, alongside photographs and documentary evidence to confirm the destruction of the seized drugs.
