MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia National Police (LNP) has relieved Commissioner for Crime Services, Johnny Dean, from his post over allegations of being compromised in the investigation regarding the 317-million-dollar Cocaine seizure.

Police Inspector General, Col. Gregory Coleman, told reporters on Thursday that Deputy Commissioner Dean was relieved from his post after investigators discovered that he allegedly compromised the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

Col. Coleman said Dean reportedly provided assistance and comfort to suspects already in police custody.

The Police Inspector General also quoted Dean as admitting to receiving ten thousand US dollars in connection with the case.

Col. Gregory Coleman clarified that Dean has not been implicated in the actual trafficking of the cocaine, noting that his action was serious enough to warrant immediate dismissal pending further investigation.
