MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah has challenged Bong County University graduates to solve national problems using their education to advance Liberia’s ARREST Agenda.

Speaking during the University’s fifth convocation, Dr. Jallah urged graduates to measure success by improving lives rather than simply securing employment opportunities.

The education minister said:” Agriculture, information technology, nursing, and education graduates share one national assignment despite entering different professions after graduation”.

Dr. Jallah urged agriculture graduates to boost food production while encouraging technology, nursing, and education graduates to strengthen national development through professional excellence.

She also encouraged Bong County University to strengthen research, practical training, and academic quality while addressing challenges confronting surrounding communities and institutions.

Dr. Jallah urged graduates to convert knowledge into value, strengthen institutions, protect their integrity, and expand opportunities for underserved Liberians through ethical leadership.

In her statement, Bong County University Valedictorian, Florina Kpehe, called on the government to increase higher education funding, expand academic programs, and create employment opportunities.

Delivering the valedictory address, Kpehe described graduates as nation builders responsible for Liberia’s transformation through education and service.

The nursing graduate appealed for master’s degree programs at Bong County University to ensure talented but disadvantaged students access affordable advanced education.

Kpehe also encouraged prominent sons and daughters of Bong County to complement government efforts by supporting quality education and institutional development.

She called for greater investment in modern facilities, libraries, laboratories, and digital resources to strengthen Bong County University and rural higher education.

During the program, Bong County University President, Dr. Alfredson Tiakerweyah, urged graduates to measure success through meaningful service and lasting societal impact rather than academic credentials.

The Bong County University President said graduating one hundred and thirty-four professionals demonstrates the institution’s dedication to preparing skilled citizens for Liberia’s national development.

Dr. Tiakerweyah thanked the Board of Trustees, past university leaders, and stakeholders for strengthening the institution through visionary leadership and unwavering commitment.

He encouraged graduates to forgive those who discouraged them and remain humble while using their education to transform communities and improve lives.
