Pres. Boakai Orders Immediate Reopen of Phebe Hospital

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has, with immediate effect, ordered the reopening of Phebe Hospital in Suacoco, Bong County.

The President’s directive comes after a high-level meeting with key stakeholders aimed at resolving the recent disruption of healthcare services at Phebe Hospital.

In an Executive Mansion release on Monday, July 13, 2026, President Boakai emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring every Liberian gets uninterrupted healthcare services.

The release quotes the Liberian Leader as expressing profound disappointment over circumstances that led to the suspension of services at the Phebe Hospital.

Meanwhile, President Boakai has also ordered the recall of Phebe Hospital Medical Director, Dr. Minnie Sankawulo-Ricks, Human Resource Director and Assistant, Jonathan Pewu, and Peter Gbelawoe, respectively.
