MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Agriculture Minister Alexander Nuetah wants the Liberian Senate to invite the previous administration of the ministry for questioning in connection with the recent General Auditing Commission’s (GAC) report.
The recent GAC report uncovered a lack of financial management and internal control deficiencies at the agriculture ministry during the past administration, an act that increased the risk of misuse of project funds.
Speaking on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at a Liberian Senate public hearing on the matter, Dr. Nuetah urged the 55th National Legislature to invite the previous administration of the agriculture ministry to respond to the GAC’s report.
According to Minister Nuetah, since taking over the ministry in 2024, the previous administration of the agriculture ministry has not provided any record that shows how project monies were used.
The agriculture minister said inviting the former leadership of the ministry will foster transparency and bring to justice those responsible for misusing donors’ funds.
