MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chinese Embassy has donated medical supplies to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center as part of efforts to support the health sector in Liberia.
Chinese Ambassador Yin Chengwu said: “The donation aims to alleviate the shortage of medical supplies at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Sinkor and enhance its treatment capacity”.
In a statement from the Chinese Embassy, Ambassador Yin described the gesture as not only an act of humanitarian assistance, but also a continuation of the long-standing medical cooperation between China and Liberia.
The Chinese diplomat further added that the donation reflects the deepening of bilateral strategic partnership between the two nations, reaffirming China’s commitment to supporting the development of Liberia’s Healthcare Sector.
In response, the Chief Executive Officer of J.F.K. Medical Center, Dr. Linda Birch, and Assistant Health Minister, Dr. Gorbee Logan, expressed gratitude to China for its longstanding and robust support to Liberia’s Health Sector and voiced their hope for further deepening of bilateral cooperation.
