The Freeport of Monrovia has showcased ongoing security and infrastructure upgrades currently underway across the facility during a guided media tour.
The Head of Communications, Pewee Baysah, said the modernization works are intended to strengthen security, improve safety, and enhance operational efficiency.
Mr. Baysah highlighted expanded entrance and exit corridors alongside automated access systems using biometric verification, electronic passes, and comprehensive security screening for visitors.
He also showcased dedicated pedestrian walkways, improved parking facilities, and upgraded restroom blocks constructed to improve convenience for port users.
The Communication Director further unveiled newly installed fire hydrants, explaining it will strengthen emergency response capabilities while additional units are planned across the facility.
