Liberia’s Education Minister Vows to Unlock the Potential of Liberians With Disabilities……

MONROVIA, Liberia – Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah has committed to breaking the persistent barriers of education, skill development, and employment pathways to unlock the potential of Liberians living with disabilities.

According to Minister Jallah, such efforts will begin with the continued preparation of teachers, curriculum design, skill development programs, and transition from learning into productive work.

The Education Minister wants policymakers, relevant institutions, and development partners across Liberia to join the Ministry in providing the needed opportunities for persons living with disabilities in the Country.

She noted that the full participation of these people in the social life of society aligns with pillar six of the United Nations’ agenda for inclusive development, which recognizes human capital development.

The Education spoke on Tuesday on the Old Road during activities marking the 2026 Skillful Hands Trade Fairs organized by a local foundation, ‘My Heart’s Appeal’

Meanwhile, My Heart’s Appeal Chief Executive Officer, Lovetee Major, is calling on the Liberian Government and educational stakeholders for support to help the foundation achieve its full potential.

Madam Major also committed the foundation to educating Liberians about the skills and capabilities of people with intellectual disabilities and creating opportunities for them.

She expressed sincere gratitude to the Education Minister, Jarso Jallah, for her ongoing reform in the Country’s education sector to unlock the full potential of persons living with disabilities.

The My Heart’s Appeal Chief Executive Officer was speaking on Tuesday on the old road, when the foundation concluded its 2026 Skillful Hands Trade Fairs.

Participants of the program were trained in tailoring, cosmetology, woodwork, and pastry, among others.
