Liberia Government Urges Public to Remain Calm and Allow National Security to Investigate the Reported 19 Million Drug Case…….

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-

The Ministry of Information is urging the public and political commentators to allow the Joint National Security Investigation Team to independently investigate the reported 19 million drug case.

‎‎Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah says the Ministry of Justice, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), and international partners are actively working to ensure that all suspects linked to the case are brought to justice.

‎According to Minister Piah, public speculation and opinions on transnational crimes could undermine ongoing investigations and disrupt efforts to establish credible facts.

‎‎‎He made the statement on Tuesday during the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing in Monrovia.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information has reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance stance on illicit drugs and related criminal activities.
