MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) has unveiled plans to establish an Open Media House to strengthen public access to information on the Fisheries Sector.
The initiative is expected to promote transparency and accountability in fisheries governance while improving public understanding of the Authority’s work.
NaFAA Deputy Director General for Administration, Madia Peters Magbollah, said,” The platform will help journalists gain a better understanding of fisheries-related issues”.
Madam Peters Magbollah noted that the Open Media House is intended to enhance media coverage and ensure accurate reporting on activities within the sector.
She made the remarks on Wednesday, May 3, 2026, at a one-day media workshop attended by more than twenty journalists in Monrovia.
The NaFAA official also urged participants to apply the knowledge gained from the training to improve reporting and increase public awareness of developments in the Fisheries Sector.
