MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia has been selected to host the 2027 Conference and Roundtable of the Africa Federation for Teaching Regulatory Authorities (AFTRA).
The disclosure was made on Friday, May 15, 2026, by Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah during a news conference in Monrovia.
Dr. Jallah said,” Liberia’s selection represents a major recognition of the country’s growing commitment to education reform and teacher professionalism”.
She explained that the continental conference will bring together education ministers, teacher regulatory authorities, development partners, researchers, and policymakers from across Africa.
Dr. Jallah disclosed that Liberia has already completed its teacher licensing framework and profiled approximately two thousand teachers for the process.
The education minister also highlighted ongoing reforms, including school geo-mapping, digital learning initiatives, accreditation programs, and quality assurance measures nationwide.
