Firestone Workers Union’s Representatives Sign Vote of “No confidence” in Union’s President

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Over forty-six workplace representatives of Firestone Workers Union, Margibi County, have signed a vote of no confidence in the President of the Union, Rodennick Bongorlee.

The workers said they have lost confidence in their president and are calling for new leadership for the Firestone Workers Union.

Our correspondent said the workers have vowed to protest to force the resignation of Bongorlee, alleging that he has been compromised and is no longer seeking their interest.

The workers’ action also comes amid a recent order by the Labor Minister, Cllr. Cooper Kruah, putting a halt to a planned layoff of Winston Ford, the Co-Chairman of the Workers Union.

Meanwhile, the President of the Firestone Workers Union, Rodennick Bongorlee, is urging members to grant him due process and allow the appropriate procedures to take course.
