GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Stakeholders in the Agro-Sector have entered day two of a week-long training on Cluster Development Approach (CDA) taking place in Ganta City, Nimba County.
The training is under the auspices of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), involving CDA, LACRA, value chain actors, SMEs, and industrial policy makers.
The workshop is under the GROW-2 Project, intended to strengthen cooperation among enterprises, service providers, financial institutions, and public sector actors operating within the same geographic area and value chain.
According to Dr. Charles Sackey, CTA UNIDO GROW-2 Cluster Development Approach enhances competitiveness, resilience, and long-term sustainability of cooperatives and M/SMEs.
He said the training is being facilitated by Vedat Kunt, a Turkish National and International Cluster Expert.
Dr. Sackey said,” The objective is to strengthen institutional capacity to apply the Cluster Development Approach in supporting cooperative development and sustainable enterprise eco-systems, building understanding of core principals, tools, and success factors of cluster development approach, enhanced skills in cluster mapping, diagnostic and stakeholder coordination, develop practical action plans for applying CDA within participant’s institutions and regions and shared international best practices and license from UNIDO supported clusters”.
