MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has emphasized the importance of the Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact, describing it as a major opportunity for Liberia’s development.
Speaking at his fourth Cabinet meeting on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Monrovia, President Boakai said,” The Compact will help improve key sectors of the country’s economy and strengthen infrastructure and public services for the benefit of Liberians”.
He noted that the initiative could attract greater investment and create opportunities for growth and national progress.
The President also addressed several other important national issues, stressing the need for stronger government coordination and commitment in delivering services to the Liberian people.
Meanwhile, President Joseph Boakai has mandated Vice President Jeremiah Koung to ensure businesses reserved exclusively for Liberians are protected.
The President said,” The move is intended to safeguard economic opportunities for local citizens and promote greater participation of Liberians in the Business Sector”.
