MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Two leading domestic election observation networks in Liberia have signed an agreement to advance inclusive electoral reforms.
The Elections Coordinating Committee and the Liberia Elections Observation Network are seeking greater participation of women, youth, and persons with disabilities in the country’s electoral processes.
The two networks want electoral reforms to address barriers preventing underrepresented groups from fully participating in political and electoral activities.
Under the agreement, the organizations will advocate for increased women’s political representation and engage stakeholders on priority electoral reform issues.
At a press conference on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in Monrovia, ECC and LEON called on political parties, civil society organizations, government, partners, the media, and citizens to actively participate in the ongoing electoral reform discussions.
