Pres. Boakai Receives Draft Legislation for War and Economic Crimes Court…The documents were handed over to the President by the Executive Director for the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court, Cllr. Jallah Barbu, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in Monrovia.
President Bokai, receiving the documents, said,” The establishment of the Courts is not intended to target certain individuals, but to prove to the world that Liberia remains a lawful nation”.
The Liberian Leader emphasized that the War and Economic Crimes Court, when established, will end decades of impunity and provide closure to citizens who lost their families during the civil unrest.
President Boakai underscored his administration’s dedication to ensuring accountability, transparency, and ending the culture of impunity.
The President, however, recalled the reburial processes of former Presidents Samuel Kanyan Doe and William R. Tolbert as key to reconciling and uniting all Liberians.
