Train Kills 30-Year-Old Man in Kpo Clan, Todee District

RURAL MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-A tragic train accident in Kpo Clan, Todee Statutory District, has claimed the life of a thirty-year-old man.

The incident occurred early on Monday morning, May 4, 2026, when a China Union Company train, travelling from Bong Mines in Fuamah District to Monrovia, struck Aaron Kollie, a father of five.

Our Correspondent said the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

According to the deceased’s elder brother, Peter Forkpa, Aaron lived in Zinnah but had gone to check on family property near the railway line, where the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, the body of the late Aaron has been taken to a local funeral home in Kakata, Margibi County.

At the same time, citizens and local authorities in Todee Statutory are calling for urgent safety measures, following a train accident that claimed the life of a thirty-year-old man.

Residents are urging the government and China Union Company to improve safety along the railway corridor between Bong Mines and Monrovia.

According to our correspondent, Todee District Superintendent Emmanuel Davis has recommended constructing alternative roads along the tracks.

He described the repeated loss of lives along the railway as heartbreaking and called for immediate intervention from the Transport Ministry.

Meanwhile, China Union Representative, Christopher Weah, says the Company will review the recommendations as part of a broader safety assessment.

Weah disclosed that the Company will cover funeral expenses and engage the bereaved family in further discussions.

Our correspondent said,” This latest incident brings to five the number of deaths recorded this year along the Bong Mines to Monrovia railway line”.
