MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The new broadcast complex of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) is set to be dedicated this Friday, May 1.
Disclosing on behalf of the LBS Board Chairman, Jerolinmek Piah, Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Service, Damiel Sando, said the new facility will formally open for business on Friday, May 8, 2026.
Sando said,” President Joseph Boakai will be joined by Chinese Ambassador, Yin Chengwu, and other dignitaries for the dedicatory ceremonies at the LBS Compound in Paynesville City”.
The construction of the complex is part of a five-million-dollar grant from the government of China to expand and modernize the LBS.
In August 2024, President Boakai broke ground for the project construction, declaring that Liberia was on an irreversible path of development with China by its side.
The landmark building is a hugely significant project that looks set to transform the broadcast landscape and finally position the State Broadcaster to achieve digital migration in radio and television broadcasting.
