Storm Victims in Bong County Seek Urgent Help from Gov., Humanitarians…

BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-Residents of several communities in Bong County are calling on government and humanitarian organizations to come to their aid, after a strong wind left them homeless.

The April 8 storm destroyed homes, radio stations, and institutions, among others, leaving many squatting with relatives, friends, and even sleeping in open public places.

Our correspondent said the victims are desperately in need of food, clothing, and other essential needs.

He said radio stations belonging to Representatives Marvin Cole and Prince Moye, including the Voice of Bong County station, were also badly hit by the storm

Meanwhile, the county leadership has yet to make any immediate intervention in the situation of the victims, forcing them to look elsewhere for support.
