Gov. of Liberia Set to Launch Preparedness Plan for Food and Nutrition Security Crises

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government is set to launch the Liberia Preparedness Plan for Food and Nutrition Security Crises in Monrovia this Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The Plan aims to detect early warning signs of food and nutrition crises, enable timely, evidence-based responses, and strengthen coordination among government, partners, and humanitarian actors.

According to an Agriculture Ministry release, the instrument will also promote anticipatory financing, mobilizing resources before crises escalate.

The document will be launched by Agriculture Minister Dr. Alexander Nuetah, as part of the government’s commitment to build a more resilient and food-secure Liberia.

The Preparedness Plan for Food and Nutrition Security Crises will be launched under the theme:” Strengthening Food Security and Nutrition in Liberia: From Evidence to Action”.
