MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Housing Authority (NHA) has disclosed plans for the construction of six hundred housing units.

NHA, Florence Geegbae, said the housing units will be available to civil servants when completed.

Madam Geegbae said,” Land identification and technical studies are currently underway across six of Liberia’s fifteen counties.

She disclosed on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing in Monrovia.

The National Housing Authority Director emphasized that the project will create jobs, and significantly improves the lives of civil servants.

Meanwhile, the NHA has revealed that Liberia needs more than five hundred thousand urban housing units by 2030.

She, however, said land availability and funding constraints remain key challenges affecting housing development.

The National Housing Authority boss also announced plans to reform the NHA Act and establish a National Housing Trust Fund to support affordable housing and mortgage access for Liberians.
